Fifteen members and one prospective member met in the chapel for Holy Eucharist (Fr Bailey Norman, celebrant; Brenda, lector; Doreen, chalice/acolyte)

 

During the chapel service Mary Charles was inducted into DOK and Joy was presented as an applicant.

 

Judith spoke to us about scholarships that are available through St. Stephens.  This fund is supported by gifts, memorials, etc.  They are available to persons high school age and up attending any institution of higher learning. More info on this can be found on the St. Stephens web site. 

 

Business Meeting

 

The meeting was called to order by president Jackie. Jackie reported that Bill M.'s infection has improved and he is out of ICU. 

Treasurer Susan reported that National dues ($35/year) and Masters Fund donations are being collected now. Make your checks out to DOK and put them in the envelope in the DOK box in the Mail Room or mail them to Susan at 11 Montana Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830

Esther thanked Charmaine for making new note cards for us.  (they are beautiful)  cards will be sent to families of recently departed souls and for 1 year anniversary's by volunteers.

Jackie talked about disposition of DOK crosses when death occurs.  You may choose to have your cross buried with you or return it to St Stephens so a new Daughter may receiver it.  (DOK at St Stephens pays for the crosses for new members).  We need to let family members know what we want done and also St Stephens DOK for our records.

New Business

A new calling chain list was distributed as we needed to add Mary charles to the list. 

Mariann will be absent for the Sept and Oct meetings.  Peggy V. volunteered to be secretary for those meetings.

Charmaine is putting together a web site for Daughters.  She will have pictures, minutes, etc. available for those who have computers.  We are really excited about this!

Margaret Bauldauf brought scrapbooks of DOK - St Stephens for us to look at.

Some of our Daughters will be attending the DOK event being held Sat June 7 at St Johns in Knoxville.

Meeting was adjourned with the Mispah Benediction.  (Gen 31:49)

We moved to the undercroft for a potluck in honor of Mary Charles.
