Monthly Meeting: May 01, 2008
Seventeen members met in the chapel for Holy Eucharist. Fr Kallio, celebrant; Brenda, acolyte/chalice and Doreen, lector. Mary Charles joined us as an applicant for DOK.
The meeting was chaired by president, Jackie. The minutes of the April meeting were approved and seconded.
Jackie reported on the prayer chain. Chris ___ surgery was a success but she is battling an infection. Jim ____has had 3 surgeries with at least one more to come.
Treasurer, Susan reported a balance of $616.31. Giving $300 in scholarships for Appalachian kids to go to Grace Point summer camp was proposed, moved, and seconded.
Bereavement Cards- volunteers will send cards. New cards are being made for this.
Funerals: Doreen thanked everyone for their time and food offerings for Jerry Knight's reception. She did not have to make 1 phone call.
NEW BUSINESS:
Judy will speak on St Stephen's scholarships at the June Meeting.
Mary Charles will be inducted into Daughters at the June Meeting. We will also have a pot luck to celebrate.
Jackie updated us on what is happening in Province IV and the National DOK as far as a new branch of DOK.
Mariann presented "A Call To Corporate Worship." A movement across the country for people to pray at noon on Thursdays for our country and our future president.
Brenda told us her sister, Joy, was interested in becoming a daughter. She needs a mentor.
Gay Marie gave a very enlightening talk on the Ulster project. Teens from Ireland and America exchange to find out about living in another country and different religious traditions. There are about 30 chapters in the U.S. they need people to bake cookies and provide donations of food or money.
Margaret Baldauf said the Hospitality House has been given a lot of outdoor plants and asked for volunteers to plant these items.

June 5 - next meeting, Brenda Lector. induction of Mary Charles and the pot luck.
DOK NATIONAL DUES $35 in June. Master Fund in June.
No DOK Meeting in July.
