NEW BUSINESS:

March meeting will not have a business meeting.  instead, Sally will speak on oils and their use in the Bible.  She is a Daughter from St James.

Michael T. was our speaker and told us about the Bread Upon the Waters program at St. Stephens.  This program is designed to make visitors feel welcome and hopefully to become part of the St. Stephens "family".  Committee members greet them, talk and get names and other info, especially the address & phone number.  Within 48 hrs, bread and and an info packet about the church are taken to their home.  The committee member then becomes their "friendly face", keeping in contact and introducing them to other folks at church.  It has been found that contact with laity is more effective than with clergy.  In the 4 years since the program has been in effect, the success rate for visitors becoming active at church is 65%.
